In 1981, in a stately mansion on O'Higgins Street, in the neighborhood of Belgrano, inspired by teacher Estela María Irrera de Pallaro and with the support of her husband Andrés Pallaro, a kindergarten was founded, which later became Islands International School. Years later, with much toil, clear goals and dedication, the primary school came to life, today located in a large building on Virrey del Pino and Arcos Streets.

In 1988, closely following the most advanced programs in Argentina and the world, the project went one step further: the secondary level was created, currently located on Amenábar Street. A building constructed with the necessary spaces and equipment to meet the needs of a modern education.

The excellent results obtained by its students, who perform impeccably in the labor environment, bear witness to this. In 1990, Islands also accepted a new challenge by including in its programs the International Baccalaureate, a prestigious association of schools based in Geneva, Switzerland. One of the most important objectives is to promote the integral development of students so that they can harmoniously acquire the skills necessary to be admitted into higher education institutions and, consequently, to the increasingly demanding world of work. For this reason, it is important that students become fluent in Spanish, English and Italian.

Passing the International Baccalaureate diploma also means that students obtain the “Maturità Linguistica o Scientifica”, a qualification recognized by the Italian Government as completion of secondary education and acceptance to university at the European level.
